Recursive Worlds

"Recursive Worlds" is a collection that explores the impossible, the paradoxical, and the recursive, revealing how these abstract concepts unexpectedly emerge in both art and life. This theme is central to my forthcoming book, Centaur Art: The Future of Art https://link.springer.com/book/9783031690624, and this selection of 18 images—chosen from hundreds I've created—represents a deeper investigation into this territory.

Why is this exploration so compelling? Paradoxes and recursion thrive in the discrete world of language, where contradictions and loops unfold through logic and structure. However, translating these ideas into the continuous world of images presents a unique challenge—one that pioneers like Escher have faced, using abstract domains such as mathematics and geometry. Yet these concepts are not confined to abstract thought; they are deeply woven into the fabric of reality. Giving them concrete visual representation offers an opportunity to advance the work of these trailblazers.

Generative platforms, with their text-to-image technology, provide an ideal tool for this exploration. By blending everyday life with the abstractions of recursion, fractalism, and paradox, these platforms create images that blur the line between the abstract and the concrete.

Some pieces in this collection were generated directly from recursive or paradoxical prompts, while others evolved through iterative text-to-image and image-to-text cycles, uncovering hidden layers of recursion and paradox. Two titles, in particular, pay homage to Carroll and Pirandello—writers who explored these very themes in their literary works.

This collection is part of a larger exploration into how generative platforms will shape the future of art. By allowing abstract concepts like recursion and paradox to manifest visually, these tools challenge traditional boundaries between human creativity and machine collaboration. As the technology evolves, I believe generative art will become a key medium for exploring the deeper layers of reality and consciousness.
