Basing my idea on how as humans have tons of moments in life that make us the people we are, with every experience i decided to take as a metaphor the idea of how threath can be embroided in order to create a piece, in this case a person. with that in mind, i wrote the poem that inspires the pieces.
Stitches that made us
We are a skein of threads
of different colors:
some new,
bright and bold,
others old and faded.
Experiences that shape us
and tangle,
that turn into knots on a fabric
and tighten
to stay forever.
They are experiences—
each strand embroiders us
on a blank canvas,
and every stitch
is a new beginning.
We are a skein of threads,
with gaps yet to be filled,
stitches to make and undo,
knots to follow a color
and cuts to end another.
A life
in which we weave who we are
and get tangled in the canvas.
