Free for the AI arts community
The free foundation has supported AI artists for the last four years, and will continue to do so.
The platform is free for AI artists and the community. Additional features can be provided when you need more capacity, larger file uploads, a dedicated domain, or specialised features to support your practice.
Organisations can use the free platform tools for competitions, open calls, and galleries. Enhanced features are available for larger programmes that require more capacity, additional domains, or advanced functionality.
@mark-cardwell
Mark Cardwell is an Ohio-based artist working in syntography, a form of image-making that uses generative artificial intelligence as part of the creative process. His work explores spirituality, identity, memory, transformation, symbolism, and the emotional interior of the human experience. Trained in the visual arts, Cardwell approaches AI not as an automated substitute for artistic authorship, but as a medium through which ideas can be developed, refined, composed, and made visible. His process often begins with concept, atmosphere, narrative, and visual language, using iterative direction and curation to shape the final image. While the work may also be described as promptography, Cardwell favors the term syntography because it places emphasis on the resulting image rather than on prompting alone. His practice is especially interested in the space between the real and the imagined, and in how synthetic imagery can carry emotional, spiritual, and symbolic weight. Figures, environments, light, water, gesture, and ritual often become vehicles for examining questions of presence, transformation, embodiment, and belief.
