3rd AI-ARTS Competition 2024
We’re pleased to reveal the winners of the 3rd edition of the AI Arts Competition 2024, chosen through a blend of public voting and careful evaluation by the organisers. This year’s submissions have shown exceptional creativity and quality, making the selection process both inspiring and challenging.
The edition also introduced a new experimental feature: the AI Judge. Its detailed assessments appear at the bottom of the original results presentation, offering a distinct perspective on each winning artwork. We deeply appreciate the remarkable contributions of all participants.

Grand Winner
Straggler Art’s winning artwork, “That is Who We Are,” draws the viewer into a profound exploration of the human condition. Through its layered triptychs, the piece examines identity, ambition and the complexities of societal roles. Noted for its depth and originality, the work combines AI-driven creativity with themes of struggle, introspection and resilience, inviting reflection on what it means to be human in an uncertain world.

These artists have produced remarkable pieces, highlighting how AI can transform artistic expression. Their creations received significant support from both the public and the competition organisers. We celebrate their achievements and view them as leaders in this evolving field, demonstrating the profound impact of AI in art.

Jury's Special Recognitions
The Jury’s Special Recognition category honours artworks that excel in quality and professionalism. These pieces showcase exceptional proficiency and originality, reflecting the artists’ unique skills and creativity. Selecting these works was incredibly challenging due to the high calibre of all submissions. This recognition highlights the innovative spirit and artistic excellence that generative AI can achieve, and we commend these artists for their remarkable contributions to the evolving field of AI art.

Community Favourites
These artworks were chosen by the community for their outstanding originality and the talent of their creators. Although they may not have been placed in other categories, their significant support from both the community and the jury highlights their importance. This recognition underscores their value and impact within the AI art community and the strong connection between the artists and their audience. These artworks were selected by popular vote; works already included in the previous sections are not included here.

Top 10 Winners by the AI Judge
For the first time, we present the winners of the AI-ARTS Competition as assessed by the experimental AI Judge. This approach offers an alternative perspective alongside the traditional human-selected winners, revealing overlaps and contrasts between human judgment and AI-based assessment. Each submission features an icon with a detailed evaluation from the AI Judge, analysing creativity, originality, technical execution and emotional impact. We invite readers to explore these evaluations and see the unique insights AI brings to generative art.
For those not listed here: We express our heartfelt gratitude to all the artists for their incredible submissions and to the community for its enthusiastic support of the participants. We encourage you to continue your creative journey. Being accepted into the competition is an acknowledgement of the value of your work, as many other submissions did not pass the selection process. We invite you to participate in future competitions and look forward to seeing more stunning artworks.
Next steps announced for this edition
The original announcement said the winner and four leading creators would be contacted to submit their artworks for inclusion in the AI-ARTS Stable Gallery. Selected artists from the Jury’s Special Recognition and Community Favourites categories would also receive invitations to submit an artwork for inclusion in the Permanent Gallery. The winner and four leading creators were invited to present their portfolios in the AI-ARTS Yearly Collection 2024, a printed book distributed globally. Selected artists from the other two categories were also invited to submit works for the Yearly Collection.
