Hayandi | The Phoenix Educator My art grows from the everyday experiences of being a teacher, a father, and a person living in Jambi, Indonesia. In February 2026, I began developing 1Day1Art1Story (One Day, One Artwork, One Story), an ongoing personal art project that has reached 269 artworks and continues to grow. The project follows two recurring rhythms of my life: Work Day, reflecting my experiences as an educator, and Rest Day, capturing moments of family life and my role as a father. Special occasions and personal reflections also become part of this visual diary. Through these different moments, I explore education, family, care, memory, environmental conditions, technology, and human connection. Working primarily with AI-assisted digital relief, my process often begins with my own smartphone self-portrait photographs. I develop these images through digital composition in Canva, AI-assisted transformation using Google AI Mode, and further refinement in Photopea. Inspired by the textures and layered surfaces of traditional carved stone reliefs, my works combine personal imagery, symbolic elements, warm earthy tones, and intricate visual details. For me, art is not about creating an idealized world. It is a way of documenting everyday life, finding meaning in ordinary moments, and preserving the small acts of care that often go unnoticed.
